What strikes me in the discussion is that apparently only "extremely competent developers" are allowed to have a say.

I know I am not among those. I am a generalist. A passionate advocate for FOSS, Fediverse and humane technology.

By making this distinction, setting yourself on this high pedestal, aloof or normal people, you basically guarantee the gap that will ensure that FOSS will have a super hard time to conquer more 'mindshare'.

@humanetech@mastodon.social @blacklight@social.platypush.tech @ArneBab@rollenspiel.social When we're talking about the tools used by competent developers, I think their say holds much more value than some guy that comes by and doesn't contribute anything of value, yet demands everything change for him regardless.

Code forges are inherently aimed at the developers. Community forums are aimed at users.
