I agree with that notion.

And I think its high time that we look into different ways to get something similar, but on our terms and principles and serving the Commons.

There's a lotta boring chores involved in doing such work and stuff amounts to full time engagement. Where for a #FOSS project it is already very hard to find contributors, here the challenge is even tougher.

A lot of the work would go into forging something to which implementers align.
