Many give an ORCID link. To use this exclusively would be exclusionary. Not to look at the listed publications would mean abandoning the rule as anyone can make an ORCID account.

If findings are not published they do not contribute to our scientific understanding of the world and anyone could call themselves scientist. Where is the insight?

@VictorVenema @pwgtennant concern with ORCiD noted. BUT Paper output has nothing to do with science. We communicate it through media and servers like your own. Covid has shown (and still does) that research is pushed very fast on networks like this. Ex Many new variants currently are IDed, discussed and annotated all due to users on the bird app and on GitHub. Along w many utilities like ones made by @firefoxx66. None of these things comes with a DOI
