Anybody can write a lot of commits with "perf" in the message. But that doesn't mean there's any impact.

Performance engineers instead work from the production metrics first and show their work in terms of graph, numbers, and impact on real users.

@nateberkopec I wish I could have reliable metrics to work with. Till there it's just months of perf commits before the infra guy msg me that he'll downsize some server (my most reliable metric)...
