I saw someone mention that pixelfed looks unmaintained and that couldn't be further from the truth!

While I haven't pushed many core updates lately, I have been busy working on the new pixelfed.org and mobile apps.

Once the new site and android app are released, I can jump back to that and ship a few surprises I've been secretly working on 😉

@dansup Dan, it's unbelievable what you are moving forward here, on the other hand, I'm always concerned you might burn out one day – the amount of things your are pushing is insane, and I applaud you! While I'm not a PHP coder, are there other ways to support you and #Pixelfed practically?

@dansup it really doesn’t imho, it’s just quite empty for now. But the early Instagram vibes, when it actually was a photo platform, are immaculate ✨
I’m confident that many people will realize how amazing it is to stay in a place without ads and algorithms, just communities (the iOS app is really beautiful btw)

@dansup For me at least, the reason it looks unmaintained is the both the main site at pixelfed.org and the instances don't show any activity. It appears to all be behind a loginwall or something? Also on the main project site, the "Join" button is hard to see, greyed-out looking and off in a corner. I think fixing these two things would make it look much more active.
