🔴 or 🔵: which one do you pick?

Virtual worlds might take years to develop into high-quality, realistic environments. Yet we want to ensure EU citizens harness the benefits while keeping risks and challenges at bay.

Last weekend, we convened a citizens' panel to develop recommendations on human-centric, transparent and safe metaverses.

They provided us with 8 guiding principles and 23 actions to help us develop policies in the field.

I'm not interested in the virtual worlds of the metaverse. I think the European Commission must commit itself to promoting real relations with all countries in the East and West. First a peaceful solution to the conflict between Russia and Ukraine must be found and the shipment of firearms and military equipment stopped.

@EU_Commission In my opinion, we should focus at keeping net neutrality, but at same time continue to develope virtual world simulations, AI and blockchain technology and REGULATING it where regulations are needed. Nowdays anyone can create malicious code with a bit of help from AI, but we are still not using AI technology, to learn how to understand Coma and how to wake patients from it. There is so much potential that isnt used because human stupidity is in the way.

@EU_Commission I won't use a metaverse. The real world is better. Virtualisation I use daily for Whonix whonix.org/ and Qubes qubes-os.org/

I was at a meeting in the "Second Life" virtual world where some of the issues related to this were raised.

It's corporate America. They expect people to use high-end hardware. They are rushing headlong back to the pre-Berne days of copyright handling. OK, their local law has to take priority, but to them there is nothing else but a lawless wilderness.
