Am informed that closet construction starts tomorrow. Holy shit it's finally happening. I talked through the plans with the crew and they seem to think it's reasonable. I gotta build a demonstration model of the joinery tonight so I can show them tomorrow how it's gonna work, and start planing the boards to final thickness pronto.

Joinery prototype complete. Actually a lot easier than I thought to assemble. I'm a tad worried about going this deep on the dados, but a.) it's essentially all compression forces on the post, and b.) I intend to size these precisely enough that post compression transfers through the shelf+stringer and back into the post. Best laid plans, of course... We'll see how the reclaimed 2x4s hold up.
