@tfardet Since the 1.5°C limit gained prominence we got Fridays for Future, XR and many groups fighting lignite coal mining becoming very active. Since the German Greens gained a lot in the polls and they are now much bigger than ever and in the government, passing climate law after law.

In the US the biggest climate law ever was passed this year and one more this week to ban HFC production.

I have no source for scientists claiming that 1.5°C is unrealistic, that is what I have seen on Twitter at the time. Might be searchable if you can limit Twitter searches to a specific time period.

It takes time until you see such a change in the public mood in actual CO2 emissions and even longer in the CO2 concentrations. The climate and market economies are slow systems.
