@Mastodon I'm neutral on onboarding, but I think quote posts are very useful. There've been many times where I wish I could quote post something to add more context *and* share it with others.

The feature itself isn't a source of toxicity - the people are. It's up to the community to not dogpile on others using the feature.
Imo, saying you don't want quote posts because it *can* be used for negative things exposes a lack of trust in your local timeline and/or your instance staff
