@AnnaP @adamdavidson For what it's worth, there are over 6,000 servers out there with varying amount of users on them, some people self-host Mastodon just for themselves, so 50 on its own doesn't mean much.

Exactly.

I'd add: defederation can be a good, healthy choice for a community. It doesn't always mean the defederated server is inherently evil or something. (though sometimes it does).
