@dansup @pixelfed #Facebook made #WhatsApp block links to #Telegram in 2016: androidpolice.com/2016/09/09/w

This was not a bug. It took getting caught and called out by tech press for them to quietly back this out.

@dansup @pixelfed that's what you get for threatening their precious Instagram with free market choices 🤷‍♂️

@dansup @pixelfed when did meta/Facebook ever have a good look, anyways.

Those platforms are stains on the history of an open internet.

Political and social manipulation, apparent discrimination based on ads shown, data harvesting, rise of online social anxiety. What good ever comes from these corporate platforms?

@dansup I tested this and I did not got blocked or anything. threads.net/@mogoh_viol/post/C So I assume, this was just an accident.

I know everybody loves to hate meta, I am am not a fan either, but I find it hard to believe that they outright ban the word pixelfed.

@dansup @pixelfed The only posts I've ever had removed from Facebook are ones mentioning or showing posts on Mastodon.

@dansup @pixelfed
I can understand them defederating from pixelfed instances for commercial or ideological reasons, but actively censoring any mention of a competing service!?

Actually, I can understand Meta doing this, but only in the same way as people who didn’t want to federate with Threads in the first place.
