This person's political takes have never been hotter than something you could read in The Economist. I think trying to turn this into a political fealty test clouds the more important issue - a healthy community where contributors don't leave due to one person's actions.

I'm happy to support the new foundation and conferences, I think they'll be a great help to the community. But it feels to me like we're still sitting on a time bomb; one sewed in to our guts that cannot be removed.

This has always been my core open-source value: more contributions from more people.

The corollary: everyone is replaceable. No one is bigger than the project. We are all stewards, not heroes.
