@feditips@mstdn.social Don't really care how much peoples follow me. Still, good to give those infos to peoples who do.

QTing this advise from @feditips so that I can pin it to my profile. These are evergreen recommendations.

In addition, a new onboarding effort has been launched at SpreadMastodon.org to help people join or find other people to follow here. If you’re looking to enhance your time here, there is information there to help.

@feditips My cat's introduction post got more attention than mine, maybe I should pin that one instead 😅

@feditips thanks for this! I'd done/do most things you listed. Point 6 though, to enable suggesting account to others, I didn't even know was a thing.

@feditips

I'm not sure a bio is that useful. This isn't a job interview, and I almost never read bios anyway. I think the important thing is follow people you find interesting, like/boost/reply, and post your own stuff as soon as possible.

Imagine you were at a party. Would you hand out CVs to the other guests? I can't think of anything more off-putting. No, just start talking to people, become part of a conversation. That said, I hate parties, but the principle is good.

@feditips This doesn't seem right. I can't find other people more easily if they do this.
