@dansup All those UI is highly customizable :)

You can remove everything and only leave the timeline (and sidebar navigation).

@dansup I have mixed feelings about miskey.

While I know the ui is a bit much, I think that features like a gallery for artists to display their work and limited storage size make the platform innovative instead of imitative.

@dansup I kinda feel you on this one. I love Tusky precisely because it's so minimalistic. It doesn't even have a federated TL.

I don't want loads of features, just straightforward simplicity and intuitive design. Anything I can't do on the phone app, I can probably do on the web app, and anything I can't do on the web app, I probably don't need.

@dansup I'm in the same camp; There's so many things going on in *key at once, and I'm finding it difficult to parse.

For now, I'm trying out the Classic layout. I'll see if that makes a significant difference, because I've been constantly bouncing back to Mastodon just for feeling drained by all the bells and whistles in calckey.

That said, I like the richness _potential_ displayed in calckey. (As long as I don't have to engage with any of the Settings. 😬)

@dansup id take anything over mastodon now if i could find a suitable software for my main microblogging needs. Calckey is beautiful and im sure with time it could be my primary software.

@dansup You can simplify the layout (there are three modes, with the simplest being a basic reverse chronological timeline).

All the dates and stuff are "widgets", of which there are more!, that are removed in the simplified view.

Calckey has a high degree of customisability it seems.
