WILL YOU RECEIVE FOOD AS A GUEST AT SOMEONES HOUSE
WILL YOU RECEIVE FOOD AS A GUEST AT SOMEONES HOUSE
@TerribleMaps It's true. We Scandinavians are tightwads
@TerribleMaps come to my house and you'd better bring ME food!
@TerribleMaps The good news: They found Atlantis. The bad news: You won't get food there.
@TerribleMaps Scots and Irish just built different
The terrible thing in this map is the position of iceland.
@TerribleMaps Reminds me of when I took a? short course at Bryn Mawr. One evening, I was returning from looking around downtown Philly and stopped at a convenience store for directions to Bryn Mawr. I pointed down the road, "Is this the way to Bryn Mawr."
"Huh?" (this cycle was repeated three times.)
"If I go down that road, where does it go?"
"It goes to South Philly and you don't want to go there."
When I got back to work, I relayed the story to my coworker. He said, "With your black hair and dark eyes, they'd just take you in and feed you."
@TerribleMaps Oddly enough the places where you are unlikely to be given food are the places where you WOULD NOT like to be given any food.
@TerribleMaps maybe I'm just atypical or just bad at cooking but at my place in the netherlandians I'm usually saddened by the fact most people don't seem to want anything I make lmao
@TerribleMaps In many parts of Spain you have to call the police to get out of your hosts' house before they "corner" you with food.
@TerribleMaps define food.
@TerribleMaps In northern Spain I had to ask "please stop bringing food, I can't eat any more" when I visited...
@TerribleMaps I feel like here in Finland it depends. Unexpected guests are unlikely to be given a proper meal, but likely to get coffee & biscuits etc small. And obviously ppl also specifically invite others for dinner, bbq etc.
