I've been in companies where the UX designer were true agile team members. They didn't have to know all the tech, but 'followed along' and having daily team discussion.

This close interaction leads to fruitful results, where the devs see e.g. how to componentize their code to fit better with UX patterns, and vice versa how UX design changes aren't disruptive to an extent where devs are ablaze with anger ;)
