Mastodon implements its own API, which is not lightweight.

For now the plan is to wait/hope someone implements a mobile app that supports the ActivityPub C2S (Client to Server) APIs.

One of my (naive?) hopes for some of the extra attention things have gotten recently, is more people to experiment with alternate implementations and I'd also enjoy seeing someone do more work to expand the #ActivityPub C2S space. It does feel a bit like a chicken 🐔 and egg 🥚 problem though 😆
