@feditips @tilvids - Only missing one important suggestion: you can follow hashtags in addition to following specific people. Easy way to start seeing content relevant to your interests without having to commit to following specific people right off the bat.

I like the intent, but I see problems with saying (1:00) "people like you, setting up their own servers" - I guarantee there are people who will think "Wait! I need to set up my own server?? I'm out!". I'd suggest "people like you, some of whom have even set up their own servers".
