@Brendanjones @pixelfed From my own personal experience, me and my friends use Stories to share moments we otherwise wouldn't post

The ephemeral nature encourages more open sharing, like when we're drinking and not at our best, which is a welcome medium compared to the strict standards of posting

I'm in my mid 30's, and there are times when I want to share something but like not publicly to all my followers, that being said, everyone is different!

@dansup @pixelfed Can’t everyone who can see your posts also see your stories? In which case any self-imposed difference in posting standard is illusory. In any case, my network seem to post stories in place of posts, which is the source of my frustration.

I like to be disconnected for long periods and then catch up on what people have been up to in one big burst. It’s nice to have ephemeral posting but it’s antithetical to my use case I guess :/
