Keep the memory alive.
Honour the survivors.
Never forget the Holocaust.

6 million Jewish women, men and children and all other victims, including hundreds of thousands of Roma, were murdered during the Holocaust.

79 years after the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau, European Jews are once again living in fear.

We must not forget the origins: antisemitism and hatred led to the Shoah.

It is our duty to build an EU free from antisemitism, racism and discrimination.

@EU_Commission You say this while you're supporting Israel's genocide on Palestinians. Double standards.

@EU_Commission@social.network.europa.e
If you mean this - Why don't you start by putting an end to the genocide in Palestine? 25,000 deaths and counting.

@EU_Commission Vertel dit aan de mensen die Israël besturen.
Hun voorvaderen draaien zich om in hun graf voor wat er in Gaza gebeurt

@EU_Commission me being a black, not even seeing a single note about the Terrors of Europe in africa.🥲 Like I mentioned at the buxeles post, euro pan history likes to remmeber what it likes to remember, but loves to forget what it likes to forget. Like the crimes in africa.

How shall I "never forget" while I should forget about the others? That's not democratic.

@EU_Commission man the responses here...
Not supporting Israel on bombing civilians doesn't make you an antisemitic or a Nazi.
Supporting Palestinian lives doesn't make you an Hamas supporter. I'd argue those incompatible even.

@EU_Commission Great, let's keep the memory alive. Let's prevent this sort of tragedy from happening again. Let's prevent the fascism which originally led to the Holocaust taking root in governments by way of the AfD and ÖFP, even the HaLikud since we have no qualms interferring elsewhere. Let's not get laser-focused on a hair-splitting definition while those who wield the horrific weapon of genocide and make liberal use of it are at large.

@EU_Commission @YusufToropov Zionist Israel itself is pissing on the memory of the holocaust.

@EU_Commission Anyway — what does everyone have against semantics? “The study of meaning in language” — what’s wrong with that?

@EU_Commission food4thought: yes we do not forget and should not start forgetting. Is practicing genocide and discrimination not a thought we always should practice?

@EU_Commission
Indeed, we must not forget.

Just as we must remain vigilant against allowing memories of such past atrocities to cloud judgement of the more recent/current ones they have proved so insufficient to prevent.

@EU_Commission
There were also social democrats, communists, compassionate Christians, humanists and many other democrats who were murdered.
The consequence must therefore be to advocate humanism as the highest goal always and everywhere.
This also and especially applies to dealing with the problems in the Middle East!

@EU_Commission I applaud the push towards a kinder, cleaner fascism-repellant EUv2.

So what is the path of actions vis a vis sanitation of the totalitarians regimes currently part of the EU? The openly fascist regimes in it? The EU-members at the brink of falling and/or surrendering to fascism?

Intentions no doubt well meant, but how to view then against the backdrop of Orbán, Meloni, the AfD nazis marching again in Germany, Le Pen, the imminent descent of the Netherlands into fascism?
