I want to say that this is not about staying in touch with people over there. I have other ways to do that and Fediverse has been my main social media since 2018. This is about weighing the good I can do over there as a fediverse ambassador versus the various harms of staying there

@darius I wasn't good at using two similar social media platforms, especially when the other one started to suck in comparison. Left my profile over there, but changed the name, description and URL to lead here. Nowadays only retweeting Mastodon related tweets and that's it. Haven't been missing it one bit.

@darius I've been thinking the same. I realized that outside of one niche group that I haven't figured out how to get over here, 75% of my Twitter usage I want to retain is consuming notification feeds (e.g. National Weather Service, local fire incidents) that I'm sure I could get in here/another consumption tool easily.

If more journalists moved over, that would be the other 25% I want to keep.

I think my goal will be not to log in again after March 31st.

@darius I’m not clear on what would have material impact on the billionaire chaos agent, if anything. Still not convinced he’s not ripping it all apart for the benefit of his banks
