Why does anyone pay attention to "scientific studies" about code? If you ready beyond the headline of 90% of them, it's methodologically garbage. Code quality as a single score from 1-10?! Like epidemiological studies of nutrition: "coffee causes cancer!"; next week it doesn't.

@nateberkopec Sure there are some questionable methods out there (which is why it's important to read the papers) but there is value to applying the scientific method to the work our profession does. The work of academics can help practitioners filter out the signal from the noise and provide evidence and support for new practices that management might deride as unproven.
