@tenderlove isn't it traditional to jump from 8 to X or 10?

I just got this bundle finally... Although I realise that I have a few of the books already (most of yours, AWDWR7 and Ruby performance optimization) but the cost is worth it to get the ones I don't have - Sustainable Web Dev by @davetron5000 alone makes it worth it.

Why are Kobos bad? Maybe, I don't do much with it but I was perfectly happy with the hardware and it's still working 10 years (I think) on...

While I am personally not a fan of a 3.2 / 3.3 kind of title since it feels like it will become obsolete, I can see why it makes sense.

I would have preferred, perhaps, "Programming Ruby 3" with a sub-title of "Covers Ruby 3.3" so that it sounds relevant for longer.

Delighted that it's almost ready for release!

It's also sometimes a good way to estimate the best you can do. Suspect a method is really slow? Comment it out and see how much faster you could go. If it's not as much as you expected, put it back and focus elsewhere.

I'm doing Netflix and some Japanese TV for that - but not being immersed in Japanese slows me down 🙂

Back, in my research centre, we often used to say that the best way to make things faster is first to change the algorithm itself if we can. That can have a many orders of magnitude difference. Everything else could also help, if you couldn't change the algorithm.
