If I set my post to die after a week and someone comments on it or "re-toot it", all comments and r"re-toots" will die to? I know it's explained somewhere but this toot disappearance is something new to me.

I only like the reminder that the post os old. Asking people to be kind is cringey and a reflection of newer generations attitude. You already have a warning like that in your instance and the user posting can have another one in its bio space. Asking everyone all the time to be polite is like North Korea totalitarian behaviour, we humans are not made to be polite all the time. We are not robots and even robots get pissed off.

Wow reading the question its very interesting how people see or understand #Mastodons and the #fediverse . Although there are a ton of questions that are technical in nature or user behaviour in nature. This is one of the most interesting AMA that I've seen in a long time.
