@Gargron This so reminds me of NNTP servers back in the 1980s and 90s. Some servers honoured newgroup and rmgroup messages from anyone or by request, or not at all unless on a signed canonical list. Concensus in the 80s led to anarchy in the 90s. Anyone remember the newgroup flood that was an Ascii Art "picture" of #JerryGarcia?

@Gargron At one level - good. What I have seen is a lot of smaller communities, such as #PowerShell moving over. I like the environment and am grateful for the instance admins!

@darius Actually, it is not really a hack, but a darn great idea. You go where you feel safe and wanted - your instance. Then you can reach out in the #Fediverse to follow who you do trust. You can easily block users or entire instances should it be necessary. You get used to it.
