@searls I remember this was one of my most frustrating experiences moving from Linux to macOS. It was retarded back then and it still is almost 15 years later.

@searls I’ve used https://soma-zone.com/LaunchControl/ for years and swear by it. Seems like you would have tried it or something similar, but on the off chance you haven’t maybe give it a whirl?
