Do you have a website link on your profile or in your posts? Have you made sure it is clickable?

You have to have https:// at the beginning of a web link for it to be clickable on here. Without this, people cannot click on the link.

Without https://
example.com

With https://
example.com

(BONUS TIP: Advanced users might like to know that Mastodon supports many kinds of link including https://, http://, gemini://, dat://, dweb://, gopher://, ipfs:// and ssb://)

@feditips I didn't expect to see gopher when I logged in today 😆 That's a very inclusive list of protocols!

@feditips - THAT explains why my blog wouldn't show as a verified link. It was working, but only http when I should have placed the link in the https format. Thank you.

@feditips Wait, if https is only supported as clickable, how is http supported as well?

@feditips it doesn't support mailto, tel, or sms though. That can probably be easily changed, and I could finally link straight to my email!
(I know this because I tried sending a mailto link yesterday or so when talking about changing email providers)

@feditips thanks for this. I was wondering why my verification link wasn’t working for months now. (Obviously not worrying that much about it) your post here let me see what to do to fix it!

@feditips I did not know that Mastodon supported these links:

gemini://, dat://, dweb://, gopher://, ipfs:// and ssb://
