I've pointed this out before. Plus, it smacks of lil' bluebird and (personally) turns me off.

Too bad it's impossible to verify through a #Wordpress site without adding *another* plugin to the mountain of plugins we already have to manage.

WHY can't they validate using a simple file added to the domain, or even to text added to a page?
