It is definitely realistic to own a repairable phone. iFixit offers a Repairability Score: https://www.ifixit.com/smartphone-repairability

Next time you need a new phone (hopefully in many many years), just choose a new one with a high repairability score.

I personally cannot recommend https://www.fairphone.com/ enough.
