@dansup But why would that happen? The size of an instance doesn't affect the load they put on other servers, the number of interactions does. Mastodon.social (>200k) puts no more load on my server than Mastodon.art (<10k), for example. Tumblr would be no different in that regard, surely?

Maybe I'm missing something?

@john yeah you are, that 200k instance will send delete activities to every known server, every time a post is deleted.

No matter how big or small your instance is, if tumblr knows your server it will deliver an activity every time a tumblr post is deleted
