@darius This reminds me... a few times before I've heard people talk about the next big thing in (insert some technology dominated by a monopoly), and they say things like "I'm creating this new project", "just wait until I finish it", and in the end they do absolutely nothing. They don't even report their advances... the momentum just dies.

I believe this is intentional. When people get organized to create something new, someone appears and says "hey, I'm doing this! Just wait until I get my first prototype done" and nobody ends up doing anything.

I believe bluesky is one of those things, aimed at stiffling innovation by creating false expectations. Only to let Twitter keep going.

@darius I personally can't get past the fact that Blue Sky is a coded phrase for Bullshit.

Just like all those "Cheese and Rice" style sayings are coded phrases for blasphemy that Christians really really wanna do.

Either Jack is aware it's bullshit... or he doesn't know what Blue Sky is.

@darius "Oh cool, you have a standard! We love standards! Here's our different standard!".

For ever and ever.

@darius I was just thinking about this the other day.

Bluesky is nothing more than a bid to tear down ActivityPub and cement control of social media.
