I frequently use the term IANAG™(I Am Not A Geologist) as a disclaimer, so I'm afraid I am not in a position to speculate with any kind of authority about what we see here. But from the looks of it, it seems rather soft, leveled with the abraded soft rock around it. Some kind of salt maybe?
