@reflex Personally, I trust random volunteers more than I trust corporations, but I think it is a reasonable position to feel the opposite way too. Different people have different trust models and the answer is never "don't use service X", it is "given my understanding of service X, is it at least consistent with my usual level of threat exposure"?

@darius @reflex Twitter can read any DMs sent on their platform. So, the question is, why do people trust Twitter more than random volunteers? Especially the Twitter of March 2023.

@darius I think the answer to this really depends on who you are and what you are concerned about protecting. For a regular person, Google/gmail is likely the better choice. For myself? I'll take the platform I run or that another I trust runs. Mostly because I understand the risks and will use the platform in light of those risks.

Not dissing the project though, I think it's a fantastic idea.
