p.s. I think some people are taking these polls a bit too seriously.

Social media polls like this don't tell you what reality is, because they are not doing anything to ensure the people taking part are a representative sample.

Even if a million people took part, it still doesn't make it accurate. It's called participation bias:

Professional opinion poll companies like Gallup etc do a lot of work to remove participation bias by balancing who takes part.

I once worked on a poll which “proved” that a lot of people in Sydney were afraid to go out after dark.

The survey was a phone poll. We called people at home, on their landlines. In the evening.
