Yeah to be much more explicit for Hippo's sake:

Twitter has esoteric rules about how posts are visible to others (even people who follow you!). Mastodon's rules are very straight forward.

The odd part is for me is that the granularity of control on Mastodon is relatively coarse, relative to the things that Twitter's rules enable for power users.

So the odd part is that Mastodon is the "it's your choice!" platform, but the product doesn't give me the range of expression i had on Twitter. (well, not yet, or not by default)
