@flintpope At the moment i am working again on a program that makes graphical proposals. One can then "breed" images.

Shown is a population of 9 pictures which are based on arithmetic expressions. The arithmetic expressions can be developed by mutation and by crossing. It works like a genetic algorithm. But the mathematical fitness function is intentionally replaced by the visual selection of the observer. The idea is from Karl Sims.
