@darius @b0rk That's a bit of an odd post - the PDP-11 wasn't "dogmatically" endian it was little- for ints, mixed for other purposes... (also, b0rk asked about x86, which doesn't really share a lineage with the PDP-11 (they both shipped in 1970 and were designed earlier.) I just found out that there was a Datapoint Reunion in 2019, and I've reached out to the people who _might_ have been the organizers to figure out if I can track down the engineers who might have made the original decisions.
