@beka_valentine @spiralganglion kind of a tangent but I am reading The Charisma Machine, a book-length retrospective on the One Laptop Per Child project, and the author posits that a lot of educational theories or theories about "what kids like/do" are "nostalgic design" aka basically just personal bias reaching back to one's own idealized childhood
