@feditips @workingwriter @chrisminnick One thing that worries me is that I've seen a photo of a page from Mastodon for Dummies which said something like "please donate to your instance, because although mastodon.social as the mother instance supports the other instances, it's not enough". Which is of course the right advice, but I don't think it's true that mastodon.social passes money on to other instances. I hope that doesn't give new instance admins the wrong expectations.
