Reblogs on the home feed really don't feel right, it just feels like mastodon.

I don't think they should be enabled by default, or maybe I could algorithmically limit boosts by default.

I don't know, what do you think? It's a big change, reblogs are more frequent than image-only posts on avg

@dansup Interesting. Without reading that last sentence, I'd probably have been "just disable reblog"; it's something that feels much more like Twitter, Tumblr, Facebook than like, say, Instagram, Flickr, EyeEM, VSCO (not sure about the latter though). But usage count is another thing...๐Ÿ˜ฌ

@dansup Reblogs are a fantastic mechanism for discovering new content. It's a form of content discovery "algorithm" that leverages genuine intelligence (rather than AI). I usually enjoy the photos reblogged by people whose photos I like. It's definitely necessary to have an option to disable reblogs for those who don't like it. It's also crucial to have an algorithm that removes duplicates - in my opinion, a post reblogged by multiple people should only appear once on the timeline.

@dansup Started using Pixelfed yesterday, great work on the platform! ๐Ÿ‘

That said, I think it would be better to focus on photos and leave text content for other platforms.

@dansup add option to filter out text-only-toots or make them visually attractive with colors and nice fonts (probably doesn't work for very long toots).

@dansup make it an opt in -- for me it really makes context reading easier
