p.p.s. Be careful out there, groups can be registered by anyone. Groups are moderated by the person who registers them.

I just got (accidentally?) tagged in a message where someone told someone else about "taking control of" the Politics group on chirp.social.

I've no idea what they meant, because they deleted the message seconds after it appeared.

Also, for any techy people out there, Chirp runs on FOSS so people can set up their own Chirp servers. Groups don't have to be on chirp.social.

@feditips While this is neat, I'm fully expecting people to start to expect these Chirp chats are "private". They are not. If you need private, use Signal.

@feditips There are a few politics groups that have been created very recently (in the last few hours), so that's probably that. I'd hope the admin there has a handle on this (I'd tag him, but I can't readily find his @.), but I guess otherwise admins will just defederate it eventually.
