Yeah, the ordinary search box unfortunately doesn't currently let you cross-referencce multiple tags.
The advanced web interface does let you do that (go to Preferences, tick the box for "Enable Advanced Web Interface" then click "Save Changes").
I can add crossreferencing in the ordinary search box as a suggestion on the Mastodon github if you like?
