In case you missed it, Mastodon now lets you edit posts 🥳

You can edit any post you've made, and it will send a notification to people who have already interacted with it to prevent any hijinks or shenanigans. It also lets people see the previous versions.

You can access it through your server's website and some third party apps, for example iPhone/iPad app Toot! and Android app Fedilab.

(The official app doesn't yet support it, so it's another good reason to check out third party apps.)

@feditips be aware that Toot! Does not support more basic functionality such as changing text size to make it legible. Shame that #Accessibility is so low down the list of features that get your app free promotion here. The Toot! Developer has twigged that shiny shiny is the perfect marketing ploy on here.

@feditips you could theoretically. make a single post and edit it repeatedly. Version history will enable everyone to view past posts but the current post will be displayed.

Yes, I think it's great that you can now edit texts that you've already sent. Since I only write about my server's website, this has already helped me.
