There are online tools for finding out Mastodon addresses of people you follow on Twitter.

I'm not on Twitter so cannot test. However, if you want to try:

🐦 Debirdify
pruvisto.org/debirdify

🔍 Fedifinder
fedifinder.glitch.me

➡️ Movetodon
movetodon.org

Could you let the rest of us know your experiences in the replies?

If you want other people to find you, put your full Mastodon address in your Twitter profile. More info here: fedi.tips/how-to-use-mastodon-

@feditips just tried debirdify.

1. I click Authorize
2. Enter my Twitter account
3. Encounter a white screen referencing Twitter’s API.

I use 2FA but never prompted. Wondering if that’s a factor.

@feditips seemed to have worked for me. Both came up with the same results

@feditips I couldn't figure out debirdify ... but fedifinder got me quite a few.

@feditips
I tried out Debirdify the other day and it found none of my follows on Mastodon (which was expected given who I follow) and it recognized the two Mastodon addresses listed on my own profile. So my limited experience suggests it probably works as expected.

@feditips both said the page didn’t exist after I did the twitter auth. So I’m not sure what’s going on🤷

@feditips Debirdify worked really well. One tip is to open it in a seperate table and not use the pop-up.

@feditips Useful tool and managed to locate some Twitterfolk using it.

Don't forget, you can also create an "invite" link you can give to people by going to:

Edit profile > Invite people

which, if they use to sign up with, will sign them up on the same instance/server as you and you can tick a box to get them to automatically follow you when they do.

@Atarbuck - you may find this helpful. The second one (fedifinder) seems more user friendly, but I think if you give the former a bit of time, it might be more comprehensive.

@feditips I tried debirdify and found it helpful. Remember to revoke app permissions when you're done.😉

@feditips Debirdify helped me find one additional account I hadn’t found by other means. I was already following the others that came up.

What Fresh Hell Is This?

@feditips I tried Debirdify and am pleased with it. I need a little free time to scroll all through my list and decide who I want to continue to follow, but Debirdify found everyone for me!

@feditips I've been trying Debirdify. While it doesn't catch everyone, it seems to be useful at finding folks from Twitter especially if their account names are the same.
