@Gargron Federated has bad UX. I got linked to this tweet, I click Like but my account is on a different server, so I'm told to copy paste the url into "the search bar of my favorite app" and I'm lost for several minutes. Is the UX fixable or is it permanently broken by design?

@Gargron I'd love to leave Twitter, but the split up (Federated?) servers of Mastodon leave it feeling like you took the big tent at a circus and gave everyone a slice, instead of letting everyone enjoy the whole circus.

I feel like, sure, I can still see a few of the performers in the centre, and people in my section, but I can't see all of the performers, nor can I see any users in any other sections.

That is to say, it feels empty, isolated, and hard to navigate.

Seems like we are benefitting the most of all the #fediverse from the falling bird -- hoping we leave #bluesky in the dust (personally think Dorsey should have just given @Mastodon a boat load of cash). Any thoughts on why we are benefiting more than other networks? Do you plan on posting something more long form on your thoughts about this amazing #momentInTime ?
