Now that 's new version is out, I want to promote this amazing guide by @mart0 that walks you through the process of creating a Hometown server from scratch.

The level of detail here is astounding. It only covers Hometown v1.0.8 but I see no reason you couldn't easily upgrade to v1.1.0 following the normal upgrade instructions at the end.

It is truly useful if you are technically minded but not a sysadmin. Basically if you have messed around on the terminal a bit, the level of detail here should be enough to get going. You can check the "Who are you" section of the article for more.
