Some remarkable statements. One being thinking not be among 99.999999998% that go typical VC route.

Another interesting bit "we, as a company, don't actually own the whole thing". Now is MPL-2.0 but, but is that in itself enough if they took their hands off and veered to proprietary direction? Can a fork thrive?

The VC cash will dampen enthusiasm in world, which in itself makes typical VC future more likely.

"create an open source community with both designers AND developers" is @penpot CEO's dream.

I happen to share that dream with coding.social in prep for launching Q4. #SocialCoding is about #InclusiveCreation where anyone can be in creator roles. Dev being just one among many skillsets required for healthy #FOSS.

Was using #penpot with this dream in mind. But there's a shadow now. Something to take into account.

I want more reassurances about product direction and vision.
