👋 Hello, 2024!

As we step into this new year, we are filled with anticipation and excitement as we look forward to celebrating the 20th anniversary of the biggest enlargement in 🇪🇺 history!

On 1 May 2004, our EU family became even stronger and more inclusive when 10 new countries joined our Union:

🇨🇾Cyprus
🇨🇿Czechia
🇪🇪Estonia
🇭🇺Hungary
🇱🇻Latvia
🇱🇹Lithuania
🇲🇹Malta
🇵🇱Poland
🇸🇰Slovakia
🇸🇮Slovenia

Happy Accession Anniversary!

@EU_Commission That was radical, very optimistic, and yeah, it's not been perfect, but i think it's not as catastrophic as many people think, we just tend to see the downsides more than more easily than the upsides.

Now, we do need to work hard against the nationalist resurgences that capitalized on it, because they threaten to take over Europe.

@EU_Commission I need to get a passport from an EU country before you kick Hungary out

@EU_Commission Poland and Hungary shouldn't be allowed to be a EU member.

@EU_Commission @Wikisteff Now that Canada officially shares a land border with Denmark now that the Whiskey War has been settled (for those who don't know: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Whisky_W), I believe it would be reasonable to start discussing the possibility of Canada joining the European Union.

@EU_Commission Lets be honest, in hindsight you would have changed the "unanimity voting" rule before the enlargement...🙂 😩
