I've been on Mastodon since 2016, and in those early days that was what I did... encouraging people to just sign up on *mastodon.social* and then move somewhere else later.

But since that site became so big, and doesn't always accept new members, that's not an option.

It will be great to have an option to offer people that was operated by an org like Mozilla!
