bragging

@65dBnoise

Seeing the interior of the S-38 brings back the smell of old, dusty tube radios! Not sure if those were the good old days or not! 🙂

You have every reason to brag about leaping from Novice to Extra in one shot - that's quite an achievement!

I drifted away from ham radio many years ago myself. I was very much into RTTY at the time, but then microprocessors appeared and sucked up all my time and energy! 🤓

I owe it to learning M. code early, and Jeff, a fellow EE student who gave me a surprise Novice test one day in the radio club (I hadn't even thought of taking a test at that point) and urged me to go along with him for my Technician a few weeks later; he was going for his Extra.

I was never much of a ham operator but being able to use the radio spectrum was always a good incentive 🤓 I'm still licensed by another authority, but don't even remember my callsign anymore 🥴
